I would like to report a tragic incident regarding our beloved Italian Greyhound, Buckley. The week of August 3rd, 2007 we left him at Miss Kitty's Bed and Bath. We continued to an area south of Atlanta for vacation. The first morning of our trip I called to check on our baby and Miss Kitty's told me that Buckley had gotten away. Since I had only one missed call the previous evening from the kennel, I was shocked no one tried to contact more than one time in over 15 hours to inform me my pet was missing.
Ever since Buckley's disappearance, the kennel has done little to help bring back our pet. They did have an advertisement on a local new website stating the reward WE were offering and pictures of Buckley. Included in this advertisement for the return of our dog is a fabrication of the events surrounding Buckley's disappearance, essentially leaving out the plain fact that Buckley was in Miss Kitty's care when he disappeared. Also, Miss Kitty's included a larger than life emblem of their business with contact info and directions. To me, this is despicable. If Miss Kitty's felt any shame or remorse regarding this situation, they would not have the audacity to use this horrible event to advertise their business.
There was overwhelming heat that week and Buckley was fragile. We feel Miss Kitty's mistakes and inadequacies in the critical moments of this incident were unacceptable. When you board or kennel anyone's pets at any price you must be responsible and attentive for their safety and well-being. Miss Kitty's is frequented by those in the country music industry (someone in this field recommended Miss Kitty's to me) and they have autographed photos of other "stars" who are clients in their lobby.
I believe this story regarding kennel safety and responsibility would be of utmost importance and interest to those of us with beloved pets in the Nashville area.
Please protect your pet. Miss Kitty?s is not the place to leave them.
Pros: They don't lose everyone's dog.
Cons: They lost our dog and may lose yours.
