Ah, yes, the rude, pregnant brunette hostess. I have read that others have felt her icky stare and her overbearing presence also. My date and I had just sat down with a couple nice glasses of wine. My date had her feet tucked under her on one of the couches. Little did she know that the hostess had her in the crosshairs. ""Uh, I'm gonna need you to get your feet off of there,"" she blurted at my date. Okay, maybe feet shouldn't be on couches. But they weren't steel-toed work boots and I'm not sure you should be told to take your sandled-feet down at such a place. The next victim was the bouncer, who was guarding the outside patio for a private party. Now, I didn't hear the whole conversation (it was loud), but I did catch the raised-voice part in which she accused the bouncer of calling the servers liars. ""My servers are not liars,"" she sorta-yelled. Don't know what that was about. As far as I'm concerned, when a hostess at a restaurant is behaving brutish to, and in front of customers, it's time to go. So we did. Beechwood is an otherwise pleasant place with good drinks and good food and a very nice atmosphere. But the hostess may as well be swinging around a riding crop. And, upon asking a server about it, I was told that she is often the subject of customer contempt. Like I said, the drinks are good. But they're not that good.
Pros: nice, relaxing atmosphere
Cons: bad, tense atmosphere
