Cristina Verger is a brilliant menu designer. She orchestrated a six-course seated twilight lunch plus a symphony of elaborate desserts for 150 wedding guests that was the equivalent of a meal served in a 5-star restaurant in Tuscany. She did all this in a tent in my parents East Hampton backyard in a mere three months, after we had to ""let go"" another wedding planner who just couldn't handle our tall order. Cristina brought in everything from the tents, to the flooring, to the generators, chef's kitchen and servers, linens, silver, china, crystal chandeliers and other lighting, organizing calligraphers and photographers, sound system/music, flowers, outdoor restrooms, turning our backyard into an outdoor dining room in an English garden setting. My mother, sister and I were very involved in the choices, which may have actually made Cristina's job more complicated. But one of her many qualities is doing all of the above while managing the various personalities of the family members involved in the details of the wedding. At this she is a true miracle worker. She executes your vision and tastes while keeping heads calm and doing what she has to do to ensure that your wedding is a great success, so that each and every guest leaves feeling honored to have been included in such ""a special, unique, intimate wedding,"" no matter how big or small. She becomes invested, she becomes a friend.
