Cristina created a wonderfully elegant, relaxed, sophisticated wedding event for my husband and I - we could not be happer with the outcome. We brought Cristina on to plan our event (at a hotel in NY) in early September 2008, and the wedding was mid-November - we had less than two and a half months to plan, but I would not have changed a thing. The venue was perfect and exactly what we wanted, the food was wonderful, and I am still getting calls and emails telling me what a special, unique wedding we had, like nothing many of our guests had been to. Cristina has a knack for providing choices that work for her client, and the ability to simplify situations and move everyone forward. She never told me that there was something we could not do, and was always very supportive of my decisions, while steering me in directions that she thought would work, as needed. She performed additional tasks that I did not expect her to do at the beginning of our planning, with no complaints at all. Very importantly, she managed the vendors and the timeline, enabling me to carry on with the rest of my busy life, the whole reason we hired a wedding planner. We interviewed several wedding planners but as soon as we met Cristina Verger we knew we had found ?our wedding planner?. We will be forever in Cristina Verger's debt for all her help in making an extremely important day in our lives such a special and memorable one. Her professionalism and ability inspired in us such confidence that instead of being totally overwhelmed by what could have been a daunting task, we were all able to handle the occasion with fairly calm nerves ! The arrangements were superb, Cristina's entire staff was excellent and the entire event went so smoothly that ambassadors and guests from Washington said they had not attended a State dinner that was better organized. Of course, the even greater compliment was that people thought "wedding like this only happened in Hollywood movies ! " We are still receiving letters and phone calls raving about the food and all the arrangements. Even for a small wedding of 40 guests in a small Mexico town, we realized that it needs just as much work, if not more, than a larger wedding in the city. In comes Cristina Verger... her professionalism, expertise, and wide vision were key in the most enjoyable time of our lives. From the beginning, she understood the big picture, listened to our needs, and offered amazing advice and alternatives. She is an expert planner who has plenty of ideas of her own, but always understands that this is your day and allows you to have your own opinion, which sets her apart as a true event planner vs just any other planner. We had big ideas for our 3-day event, many of which were quite difficult to execute in a small, quiet town, but she handled each challenge with grace and an effortless ease. With her history in catering, she was able to create exciting menus in 3 different places, all highlighting the fresh food of the area. It is no easy feat to negotiate and befriend all the vendors we had to find in Mexico, but Cristina will use her resourceful nature to always come through with the best. She orchestrated a six-course seated twilight lunch plus a symphony of elaborate desserts for 150 wedding guests that was the equivalent of a meal served in a 5-star restaurant in Tuscany. She did all this in a tent in my parents East Hampton backyard in a mere three months, after we had to "let go" another wedding planner who just couldn't handle our tall order. Cristina brought in everything from the tents, to the flooring, to the generators, chef's kitchen and servers, linens, silver, china, crystal chandeliers and other lighting, organizing calligraphers and photographers, sound system/music, flowers, outdoor restrooms, turning our backyard into an outdoor dining room in an English garden setting. My mother, sister and I were very involved in the choices, which may have actually made Cristina's job more complicated. But one of her many qualities is doing all of the above while managing the various personalities of the family members involved in the details of the wedding. At this she is a true miracle worker. She executes your vision and tastes while keeping heads calm and doing what she has to do to ensure that your wedding is a great success, so that each and every guest leaves feeling honored to have been included in such "a special, unique, intimate wedding," no matter how big or small.
