Butterfish in wonderland! 1/9/2007

What a fantastic restaurant. My brother, his friends and I ate at Asia De Cuba and we both agreed that it was possibly the best meal we've eaten in a restaurant in West Hollywood.\r \r The menu is a fusion of Asian and Cuban cuisine beautifully put together. We started with a delicious calamari salad, special sushi roll and steamed beans dumplings. All were an amazing fusion of tastes and textures.\r Next came an exquisite butterfish, short ribs, cuban chicken and the lamb -all worthy of the utmost praise. \r For side dishes we opted to stay with the lobster mash and soy veggies.\r \r Just about having room for dessert my brother chose the dessert platter - given the tiny spoonful I was allowed to remove from the plate I have to assume that it more then met with his approval! The cuban opera was just impressive.\r \r The staff were courteous, knowledgable and attentive throughout our visit - a special credit to the managers Stephanie and Franki who are not only gracious hosts but might be 2 of the funniest people we've met.\r \r After dinner we went to the beautiful skybar. It was a bit pretentious and somehow empty so we did not understand why the door security refused entrance to other patrons. My brother had a point, you know when a place is going down when the most beautiful girl at the Mondrian hotel is the restaurant Manager.\r Highly recommend Asia De Cuba, You can pass on Skybar.\r more
