I ate at Django this weekend on the suggestion of a friend and found the flavors to be overwhelming and conflicting. Adding to this lack of subtlety, some of the food was overcooked (the gnocchi particularly). The presentation was pretentious without being attractive. Finally, we had a 7:30 reservation, were seated about 7:45, and finished our meal after 10 pm because of the extreme slowness of the kitchen (waiting long periods between courses without apology from the generally uninterested staff). Some of our meals had clearly been kept warm in back. To add insult to this injury, two minutes after our check dropped we were asked to leave with the clear suggestion that we'd overstayed our welcome. We were shocked at this and I'd discourage anyone from this restaurant who expects good food or a pleasant dining experience. more
