St. James Gate is somewhat hidden in an area of Belmont on Old County Road which is actually a straight, long road running along El Camino Real and home to mostly small industry-type businesses (machine shops, body shops, electronics, etc.). You'd never guess that any bars at all exist there, let alone more than one.
Pros: fun, great live music, good atmosphere, good service, neighborhood bar
Cons: location hard to find, parking nearby can be a little scarce
