Great live bands 8/10/2009

This is a local dive bar no doubt about it. But the live bands they feature on the weekends are great. The food is typical bar food, I would not recommend it. \r \r But to grab a beer with a group of friends and listen to good bands it's a fun place to be. more

not an irish pub anymore 10/18/2008

This place is no longer an irish pub....it is just a local dive bar. Lots of bikers hang out here and it has changed a lot. I would not recommend this bar. more

St. James Gate is somewhat hidden in an area of Belmont on Old County Road which is actually a straight, long road running along El Camino Real and home to mostly small industry-type businesses (machine shops, body shops, electronics, etc.). You'd never guess that any bars at all exist there, let alone more than one. Pros: fun, great live music, good atmosphere, good service, neighborhood bar Cons: location hard to find, parking nearby can be a little scarce more

Live music 4 nights a week without a cover charge...that rocks. Pros: Live music, dancing and food...safe environment Cons: gets crowded on fri/sat nights more

  • Stop by St. James Gate for a fun atmosphere, incredible food, charming bartenders, billiards, ping pong, and an impressive selection of beer, wine, classic and modern cocktails.

    We serve 100% all natural grass-fed Black Angus beef from cattle that are born and raised in California. Our menu includes amazing burgers, to-die for wraps, and traditional pub fare.

    As for our drinks, you wont find a better bar. We have over 400 bourbons, 40 beers, hand-crafted cocktails, and an interesting wine list. For Sunday brunch, we offer bottomless mimosas with sweet and savory dishes.

    Then, theres the LIVE entertainment. Every night we have something going on. On Mondays we have Open Mic Night, the last Monday of every month is Prime Rib & Whiskey Dinner, and a Tequila Tasting & Dinner on the 3rd Tuesday of the month every 3 months. Other nights we feature LIVE bands, pub quizzes, and more. Theres always something interesting going on.
