We took our puppy to Dr. Reuter at Companion Animal Hospital for the first (and last) time last Friday because Mickey was constantly vomiting and we wanted to get him to the nearest vet. As soon as the doctor walked in, knowing nothing about Mickey or his history, stated that Mickey has Parvo. He just assumed that we had never vaccinated Mickey. I explained that he is current on all of his vaccinations and provided proof. When I put Mickey on the table, Dr. Reuter proceeded to put a very large thermometer in Mickey's rectum. Mickey of course screamed and hollered and tried to squirm away as I held him down so that the doctor could do his job. I expected the doctor to show Mickey some sympathy, realizing how uncomfortable it must be to have someone put a large object in your rectum when you're already feeling terrible as it is, but instead he turned to me and said, "You need to get this dog into obedience school".
