We had been bringing our two ferrets here for a few years for routine checkups, the price was low and things seemed to be alright. But when he started seeing problems with our one ferret we brought them in for a more thourogh exam. What we got was a huge bill and a dying ferret. After giving one of our ferrets his distemper shot he began to go downhill fast. This is common for ferrets, he was having an allergic reaction. Rather than treat it with benydril he gave him a small dose of cortizone. Our ferret was losing controll of his functions and losing fluids rapidly. Our little baby was in a clothes hamper in what appeared to be a storage room, half dead. I had been at work when my boyfriend called me to tell me something serious had happened at the vet. I rushed over to see this scene, and when I asked the vet what he could do he said "I dont know, we will have to wait" They did not start my ferret on fluids, dehydration was setting in and my ferret couldnt move.
