I've been to Robata over the years and I noticed that the taste has gone down quite a bit. Back in the hey-days (1980's?) was the best. Everytime I went there it was a feast. Now all the old chefs have moved on and opened their own restaurants around the bay area. That being said, I still go here every so often. Compared to some other places around here, this place is pretty good. I suggest you try their extensive sake selection. If you aren't sure on what you want, ask Fred, the owner for a suggestion. The sake goes very well with the items from the robata grill. Mmmm... sake.
Pros: sake selection, nice servers, nice owner.
Cons: Missing the good old days.
