Black Thorn was what I use to call the only true pizza place in St Louis. Being from the west coast I was not too fond of the pancake type paper thin pizzas that are typical to St Louis. Black Horn was rich, creamy, spicy and fresh-- one piece weighed a pound! However, due to recent kitchen staff changes (at least that is what the management has told me) my last three visits were double the time (2+ hours per pizza despite the 45 min promise) Toppings are scarce, service is less than lousy, and the pizza is always over-done.. If you decide to eat at Black Thorne, make sure you dont eat on a glass table... if you drop a piece of the crust it will probably break your glass.
