It's great to have an Eastern European restaurant in Austin. Surprisingly, given the Czech and German population in Central Texas, there are no such restaurants in Austin. This one is a keeper. The food is quite authentic, as is the decor. Having recently been to Romania a couple times, the visit felt like an authentic old-world experience. The prices are reasonable, and the food, while not gourmet, is very typical of a good home-cooked Romanian meal. The Romanian strudel was a great dissapointment, either being a couple days old or having been forzen-- because the dough was not crisp and fresh but limp and stale. I will go back-- because there's nothing else in Austin like it.
Pros: Anbience is typically Romanian, food is Eastern European home-style, service is friendly
Cons: Strudel was not fresh
