I visited the Wine Cellar for a birthday celebration with a large group. Upon arrival, the organizer informed the hostess she had one more to add.
The hostess ultimately caused a scene, saying ""...it's an inconvenience when you make huge changes to your reservation..."", and ""let me go figure out how to make this work...."" Any restaurant, when faced with this common request, should be able to handle it in a discreet, courteous fashion. This was not the case. Instead, the hostess nearly berated the organizer! As much as we tried to enjoy ourselves, sadly it set the tone for the rest of the evening.
The Wine Cellar's hostess turned out to be an owner as well. Very surprising. A guest at the table turned out to be a wine consultant who refers clientele here for their reputation. This experience will cease future recommendations to The Wine Cellar. Unfortunate.
