Like most Nashville restaurants in the ""upscale"" price range, the Acorn disappoints. My party got the tuna, lamb, and NY strip. The lamb shank was overpowered by a KC Masterpiece BBQ-like sauce. The Strip was properly cooked to medium, but the outside was so charred that the overwhelming flavor was charcoal briquette. Additionally, the cut was thinner than what youd get at Outback. The tuna was the best selection; however, it was not of the same taste quality as you might find in similarly or lower priced restaurants. I'd happily pay $10 for a plate of the rice, however. On the plus side, our server was excellent and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed our appetizers: scallops and fried eulachon (a special). The pear salad was also good; the dressing on the Greek salad was poorly prepared and the olives were of low quality.
Pros: appetizers, service
Cons: value, entrees
