We had heard about Barclay opening last year, but the hype over the '$100 Cheesesteak' blinded us to what Barclay Prime really is - a GREAT Restaurant. No, we didn't order the fabled kobe cheesteak, but one was served at the table next to ours - and it looked and smelled fabulous. What they don't tell you is that it comes with a half bottle of Veuve champagne - so, I guess the $100 is something of a bargain.
From the moment we stepped into the Barclay, we were amazed by the understated opulence of the surroundings, and the friendliness of the staff and managers. The guests were obviously enjoying themselves too.
I'm coming back for lunch next week. The menu seems to be a trimmed down version with even better pricing.
