I've always had excellent dining experiences at the Sunflower previously, but had a less than optimal experience last week. I ordered the steamed vegetables with udon noodles and a marvelous sauce. Enjoyed every bite of it. One of my friends ordered a special that came to the table with too much spice in it for his palate, and when he asked about getting something different the waiter replied rudely, and then the chef came out and was defensive and rude as well. This ruined our meal, although looking back on the experience later it seemed somehow comical. Our bill was over $70 for 3 people before tip and tax, and we did not order alcoholic beverages or dessert. We felt it was a bit steep. The food is of excellent quality at the Sunflower, usually, but is that enough?
