Our Jan 2006 visit proves this is no longer ""the"" place downtown. Flautas were greasy and I couldn't cut the corn shell with a steak knife! They tasted microwaved. The chicken fajita plate tasted boiled, and chicken was tasteless. We had a coupon from our hotel for (we were told by the clerk) a free appetizer and dessert. The restaurant did not offer the appetizer, and only sopapillas for dessert (which were tough). Our server was trying to rush the two of us, so they could use our table for four. We werent told of any specials, drinks, or dessert. It just felt like get out. Mariachis sing for a fee, and a photographer tries to sell you a pic. (its not prom night!) Something has changed in the whole Mercado area, and this has become a ""tourist"" restaurant, where they don't care about return business.
Pros: located by hotels , outdoor patio dining
Cons: food not worth it, food still expensive, pay for parking
