Average? Salty?? You can't have been to the same place as me. This is a lovely little spot - very peaceful ambience with great service. The menu has a wide variety of Japanese food for those who hate the idea of raw fish as well as those who embrace it. For those who embrace? Unbelievably good sushi. Honestly, some of the best I've ever had. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the handrolls were crispy and delicious -- even the rice on its own had a wonderful, nutty flavor and perfect texture. If you find your sushi too salty, maybe you're leaning a little too heavily on the soy sauce? No need to. The flavor of this food stands entirely on its own. For my money, this is THE place in Illinois (outside of Chicago) to go for sushi.
Pros: FABULOUS food, nice ambience, wonderful service
Cons: closed Sundays
