On the plus side the waiter and sommelier were personable and enthusiastic, definite assets. The Sapphire Martinis were perfect and the warm spinach salad was ok.
The food itself was very disappointing. The crab cakes were mushy, the steaks over cooked. Our old favorite, Calamari and Cherry Peppers were a shadow of their former self. It was overcooked and lacked the spicy hotness of earlier days. Perrys used to have the best escargot in town. Now, having changed the recipe they have the worst Ive ever eaten or I should say tried to eat. Even the Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee was served lukewarm. The total cost for our evening, including tip, was $500. No way was it worth anything approaching this price.
I think Perrys is expanding so rapidly while trying constantly upscale that the quality control seems to be continually declining. I hope Perry manages to reverse the trend.
Pros: Ambiance, Staff, Bartender
Cons: Food, Winelist
