I'll start out by saying that my sister has had 3 babies here and has always received excellent care and had friendly nurses. However, the experience I had while in labor with my daughter 2 years ago was quite different. This was the first time I'd ever been in labor, so I didn't know what to expect. I was in quite a lot of pain, but doing my best not to act like it. The nurse laughed at me when I told her I was experiencing pain and told me "Just wait. You haven't even started yet." We finally had to call another nurse in to bring clean sheets. Around this time she told me "Don't you dare poop in the bed because I'm not cleaning it up." Yes, she actually said that. On top of everything else, she did not believe I was actually in labor and wanted to send me home. I refused to go home, so they gave me morphine so I could sleep. Y more
