In my four years at Brooklyn College, I met some truly amazing teachers who ended up influencing my entire life. Especially the teachers in the TV/Radio and Film departments were truly visionary, some of them also teaching at upscale schools like the NYU and Columbia. I learned so much more from them than just the subjects they were teaching.
However, the more technical courses always suffered greatly from the lack of new equipment. TV production and Film production courses had prehistoric equipment, and not enough of it to go around. The teachers tried very hard to teach us well, and succeeded in a lot of ways, but not even the best teacher can help you when all you've seen is some crappy 1960s editing station and then you have to go into the real world with its modern equipment and try to get a job.
PROS: Great teachers, nice green campus
CONS: Technical classes suffer from lack of modern equipment
