Love it or hate it (and I love it) Brooklyn College has more than enough available to satisfy even the grumpiest of people. Besides the excellent professors and teaching assistants, they have Diversity, easy access public transportation (subway, bus) and is located in the famed Flatbush Junction, where Flatbush Avenue meets Nostrand Avenue.
The campus is beautiful, though slightly smaller than the norm. Tuition is very affordable, especially compared to other schools in the CUNY (City University of New York system). The college and it's surrounding areas are currently experiencing massive construction projects for more facilities that will no doubt make life a bit easier for students and teachers.
There are also many food options for faculty and students in the surrounding area. Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, Golden Krust, Mcdonald's, Blimpie, a couple of diners, a pizzeria or two and a hop away from buses that take you to Kings Plaza Mall for shopping & assorted delights.
