I made reservations to this bistro in advance for our 1-year wedding anniversary. Twenty-five minutes before our reservation, as we were ready to go enjoy a romantic night out, the bistro calls telling me they had a party that was larger than expected, and would we mind dining at the bar. I told him that would be unacceptable. He hemmed and hawed and said he ""[didn't] know what to do."" He finally told us to come 15 minutes later than our reserved time and he'd ""see what [he could] do. The man's tone did not inspire confidence. We were treated like an inconvenience. Fortunately, my wife and I found another lovely restaurant that could accommodate us that very evening, and I cancelled my reservation for Bistro Provence, much to the manager's indifference. A fine restaurant begins with exceptional customer service. We received classless treatment from a supposedly classy place.
