Went to Sutro's on a rainy night during the Christmas holidays, so it was not very crowded and I didn't have a reservation. Nice tall glass windows and decor. Food was good. I ordered the New York steak and it wasn't too bad. Not terrific, especially since it's a pretty expensive restaurat. But then, you go there not just for the food. Since it was a rainy night, we couldn't see any view. But I think if you in the summer (SF's summer is in Sept) for dinner, you could check out the nice sunset and enjoy even more. The server was attentive. It's a romantic setting, yet not too fine dining that you have to speak really softly.
