Garrett's has some excellent food. Also, it's important that first time visitors realize that there is a wonderful terrace dining room upstairs. The standard ""pub grub"" items are done well and the specials keep the menu interesting. Check out the authentic NC BBQ sandwich, the seafood chowder, the ribs, and the wings. The place is also a great bar with great bartenders. It's a mixed crowd of all ages, although the college age crowd is very present in the upstairs bars late at night. Thankfully, the bar downstairs remains more civilized.
Pros: Inexpensive, Large dishes, Great kitchen
