Hereford House should not be #1. They don't deserve or honor this status. It's a regular joint if you ask me, nothing special at all about Hereford House. I do remember one time a co-worker and I went to the downtown location for lunch. We walked in and were told they can not serve parties of 4 or less because is was National Secretaries Day. So in turn they rejected our business because it was not in their favor. As a KC Native, I will never go to another Hereford House because of this incident.
I personally would choose any other steak house then Hereford's. Sure it may be convenient for the downtown workers but since I work almost a block from it, I've found many great restraints like Jack Stack or even Tanners Bar & Grill.
Pros: Good downtown local, slow during lunch
Cons: Poor Parking, To expen. for quality, Anything is better
