My wife and eye learned that we could get standing room tickets to the Opera for just ten dollars. Even if we had had to stand for the entire production it would have been a very enjoyable evening and has to be the best entertainment bargain in the city. Just arrive about an hour early and go to the side of the opera house on Grove to buy the tickets. Early arrival means you may get the preferred orchestra level spots that let you lean on a shoulder high wall at the back of the hall.
We were given $155 seats by a couple who left at intermission. Your luck may vary!
Pros: Bargain price., World class opera.
Cons: Standing so long.
