I love the opera house! It has a wonderful old feeling. If visiting San Francisco, go there, and you can't miss. Everything there is first class. They have the very best shows, the very best costumes, and the performers are always top notch. \r \r Every year pretty close to Halloween, they also sell their outdated costumes to the general public. You can really get some great bargains here since they have some of the most incredibly elaborate costumes.\r \r They're fantastic all around. Yes, I love the opera! more

Standing Room Tickets 9/21/2002

My wife and eye learned that we could get standing room tickets to the Opera for just ten dollars. Even if we had had to stand for the entire production it would have been a very enjoyable evening and has to be the best entertainment bargain in the city. Just arrive about an hour early and go to the side of the opera house on Grove to buy the tickets. Early arrival means you may get the preferred orchestra level spots that let you lean on a shoulder high wall at the back of the hall. We were given $155 seats by a couple who left at intermission. Your luck may vary! Pros: Bargain price., World class opera. Cons: Standing so long. more
