As a native I have been to the Salish lodge on occasion in my life, although it had been a number of years since my last visit I assumed it was worthy of a return. What a big mistake. We took a couple of friends from back east to Sunday breakfast at the lodge in August of 2002. Although the service and ambiance were above average, the food was mediocre at best. There were 4 of us and we each ordered a different dish plus an order of french toast for the entire table to share. It was a real disappointment these people can't cook! All the dishes seemed to be prepared properly; they were just lacking in every aspect with the exception of presentation. Save yourself time and money and eat at your favorite neighborhood spot on the way and go to enjoy the view from the observation area.
