We called Chick-A-Chop to run a line in our kitchen. When electrician went to electric panel he told us house was in danger of burning down unless he replaced our entire panel and circuits to the tune of $4800. They would only accept cash or credit card up front. No contract was drawn up and no receipt given. In a panic, we agreed to have work done on the spot due to his telling us we were in danger. He startd the job and never returned to finish even after repeated calls and certified letters. Now we need a real electrician to come in and cannot find someone willing to finish what they started. We are in the process of filing with state of NJ but do not know what to do at this point.
