I am Challinging you Larry!!! This company is not what they are cracked up to be! I can swear to you that Jay C, and Jon M are indeed past customers! Chick-a-chop Will charge you a service for $5,000.00-$10,000.00 You would know that if you were a client and not a wed designer and if you took a look at their "estimates" this company is nothing but a rip-off and they make all this money but will never pay you in full...HMMMM!!! Why don't you call around to Various electrical companies and ask them how much a complete service would coast as well as an upgrade! I gaurentee they will tell you anywhere between $1,500.00-$3,000.00 tops!!!! So I challenge you! Where did you get your information from! more

Scammers! 7/3/2009

This company you want to be careful of!!! You will call for one thing and the next thing you know you are getting a whole new service for over $5,000.00 when it should only cost $1,500.00-$2,000.00! Before you call Chick-A-Chop call someone else and get other Quotes! I urge you not to use this company! They have a bad scoring system on BBB and ask for their refrences! I was told that "oh my I am concerened for your saftey" the sence of urgency was not needed!!!!! I had another contractor come in and told me the real problem! To claim that they new what they were doing was a load of crap! You will have fake good reviews on their sites! They have to be fake anyone who will pay for the service that they force upon you is crazy!!!! I would also call your twp and surrounding twp construction to verify if they are good and if they charge you to much!!! more

Unethical Attacks by Neafrious Competition 6/25/2009

I am challenging this unethical use of this review medium by the competition to drag Chick A Chop through the mud. The competition nefariously uses its knowledge of the products and procedures to fool a legitimate client using this medium and looking for help to their own business which may or may not be guilty of the activities they erroneously level at Chick A Chop. Also note that the two names given as posters are similar in nature. This clearly proves that they are fictitious posting individuals. Do yourself a favor when reading these reviews, read between the lines, and make your own research into a company rather than take the word of scum bags like these two from a competitor. more

Re: Beware of Chick-A-Chop 6/14/2009

On May 22nd, Chick-A-Chop dispatched an emergency electrician to our home as we had power in only half of the home. The electrician stated that we had a HIGHLY DANGEROUS situation which impeded our safety. He stated that he IMMEDIATELY had to replace our entire electrical service at a cost of about $4300-$4800. He even pulled the outside electrical meter to take voltage readings, insisting that our home faced a HIGHLY DANGEROUS situation while our safety was in GREAT JEOPARDY. The President of the company, Joseph Chick-A-Chop, compromised by phone with me to do the job for $3500. However, he would not allow the electrician to do the job unless we gave him a credit card number or $3500. in cash up front. Smartly, we would not accept these terms. My wife and I stayed up the entire night waiting for our walls to burn down. Luckily, the house is still standing. On the following morning, May 23rd, we got a 2nd opinion from another licensed electrician. When he looked in our electrical panel, he stated that he saw absolutely NOTHING wrong with our electrical service. He, too, then pulled the electric meter and took voltage readings of 124 V to neutral at one leg and 93 V to neutral at another leg. The 2nd electrician then told us that our problem was OUTSIDE the meter; it was a faulty underground cable belong to our utility company, PSE&G. PSE& G came to our house and confirmed the 2nd electrician's findings. They restored temporary power to our home and sent a grounds crew immediately after Memorial Day. They dug up our front lawn and replaced their faulty cable. We wrote to Joe Chick-A-Chop demanding an explantion as to what had happened. He failed to respond to our letter. In the letter, we asked how his conscience would allow his representative to create a false sense of urgency; furthermore, he allowed us to stay in what was termed a HIGHLY DANGEROUS and UNSAFE surrounding. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, who gives Chick-A-Chop a rating of an F! BEWARE OF CHICK-A-CHOP'S fraudulent ethic!!! more

Beware of Chick-A-Chop 4/29/2009

We called Chick-A-Chop to run a line in our kitchen. When electrician went to electric panel he told us house was in danger of burning down unless he replaced our entire panel and circuits to the tune of $4800. They would only accept cash or credit card up front. No contract was drawn up and no receipt given. In a panic, we agreed to have work done on the spot due to his telling us we were in danger. He startd the job and never returned to finish even after repeated calls and certified letters. Now we need a real electrician to come in and cannot find someone willing to finish what they started. We are in the process of filing with state of NJ but do not know what to do at this point. more

They do it all 7/12/2005

When we moved into our new home and seemed to be having a problem with the wiring in one of the bedrooms, we called Chick-A-Chop. They came out and inspected the room and let us know that everything was good. We even had them replace a ceiling fan/light fixture while they were her. They give very personal service. They have eround the clock emergancy service and they even answer their own phones at crazy hours. No answering services for this company. more
