Representative exhibits include a collection of African American quilts made in NC from the civil war to just after WWII; objects collected for the museum by the Thirtieth Heavy Separate Brigade of the NC Army National Guard engaged in Operation Iraqi Freedom; objects used by the Office of Strategic Services (a predecessor to the CIA) in operations during WWII; exhibits highlighting health care in NC including conventional medicine, self-care, faith and other healing systems; a NC sports hall of fame; and an exhibit focusing on the struggle for racial equality among African Americans and Native Americans in NC from the 1860s to the late 20th Century. more
