I went to Long's for the first time recently and I was totally shocked at what I experienced. The place was staffed by a young lady that, in my opinion really did not know much about what she was selling. Practically every question that I asked was answered only after she went next door to get the answer from another person. I had two cue sticks that I wanted to to have new tips put on and I asked for medium soft tips and she acted as if she did not know what I was talking about. I then told her that both sticks had phenolic ferrules and tips and asked her if she was sure they could replace them with regular tips. As I expected she again went next door and returned with the answer-yes, they could do that. The price was high-$58 for both-but I left them. The same lady called me a week later and said they were not equipped to to that type of work and this was after she assured that they could. I was frustrated at that because I had to drive 94 miles round trip from my home, pay bridge toll, and waste 2 hours of my time-all because of a mistake THEY made. I told her to be prepared to reimburse me for my travel and time. She (and the person calling the shots from next door) refused. I told her I just wanted to be treated fairly and her response was "I am being fair, I am refunding the money that you paid for the work to be done." I found out later that the place is under new ownership, so all the good reviews you see must be for the previous owner. I went to their website (which has a number of POSITIVE reviews) to post this review and found NO way to, post any review! Makes one wonder, doesn't it??? more
