A genuinely horrible and disgusting place. Despite the fact that I was interviewed by Child Protective Services while in their facility and said I had been abused in the past by my mother, therapists and staff consistently sided with my mother and told me basically to get over my abuse with my mom and see that she is right. My mother is a malignant narcissist and these statements fed directly into her abuse towards me. La Amistad has truly screwed me over by ignoring and enabling parents to abuse their children and put me on medication that caused me intense problems instead of addressing the actual source of my issues, choosing to just increase the dose and intensity of the medication given to me. One medication I had a poor reaction to and politely refused to take had me punished for not taking a medication that caused me to throw up constantly. A disgusting and evil place, I hope everyone involved in my treatment is fired and banned from practice.
