They Don't Care About Patients 9/8/2018

A genuinely horrible and disgusting place. Despite the fact that I was interviewed by Child Protective Services while in their facility and said I had been abused in the past by my mother, therapists and staff consistently sided with my mother and told me basically to get over my abuse with my mom and see that she is right. My mother is a malignant narcissist and these statements fed directly into her abuse towards me. La Amistad has truly screwed me over by ignoring and enabling parents to abuse their children and put me on medication that caused me intense problems instead of addressing the actual source of my issues, choosing to just increase the dose and intensity of the medication given to me. One medication I had a poor reaction to and politely refused to take had me punished for not taking a medication that caused me to throw up constantly. A disgusting and evil place, I hope everyone involved in my treatment is fired and banned from practice. more

My sons experience, 12/19/2017

I sent my son to La Amstad for abusing drugs, depressio, and anger issues. After completing the course. His anger issues continued, Continued doing drugs, and he posted on social media that he wished he was dead as well as threatened to kill himself. I found this out when the police came to my door and told us that his ex girlfriend had called her threatening to kill himself and went as far as to sending the police the text message to prove it. Needless to say, my son was taken to the hospital by the police under supervision. And now I keep receiving bills that I was not aware that it wasnt included such as drug testing lab and another $236. for his daily visits. I already paid 300 for initial and 300 for daily visits. This place is a scam!! more

Disappointed 7/18/2016

I would ever trust the employees at this facility. Got into a bad experience between them and I over being admitted. The 'clerk' decided I needed an ambulance. Long story short, they refused to pay the charges after promising they would pay them. I can not go to someplace I do NOT trust. more

terrible experience 7/8/2016

Waste of money, horrendous staff, and filthy facility. Went home worse off than I was when I went in. 2/10 would not recommend. more
