The best place in Amarillo to find a good deal everyday. Bread is $.79 all day, every day. Try to find a loaf of bread in Amarillo under $2.00; not very likely unless it is stale. Believe it or not, the bread at Panhandle salvage is the freshest in town. It comes from Tri State Baking right here in town. It is baked every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday and put on the shelf the next morning three days a week. Produce is well below the price of any other grocery store in town. You do have to remember it is a "salvage" store. If the produce was first quality, it would not be cheaper than other stores. If you are willing to spend a little extra time looking, you can always find plenty of great deals to make it worth the trip. The hours are a little crazy, but that is one way they keep their cost down forthe consumer . Yes you may find a few things that are not as cheap as Wall Mart, but who can compete with them?; certainly not one little independent grocery store.
