World Center is wonderful place to visit 3/4/2012

The world Center is a fun yet educational place to spend a afternoon. You can pack a lunch and enjoy eating it in the out-door courtyard when the weather is nice. There are many educational activities for the kids, and knowledgable volunteers to help you with any questions. But it is not a zoo, it is a visitor center with a conservation message. They do not rehabilitate wildlife although some of the birds you view in the center were dontated to them from various rehab centers. The Peregrine Fund is known world wide for it's conservation efforts, and hands on scientific approach to helping solve enviromental issues that effect many species of raptors. They currently breed and release to the wild, two endangered species; The California Condor and the Aplomado Falcon. There is a tour available two times each day to the Archives of Falconry. The Archives is an amazing place not to be missed. There is also a trail close to the archives, that you can walk out to a wonderful vista overlooking the Boise Valley. For "Birders" there are lots of wild raptors to watch flying near the center. I recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys nature. -Lee more
