I went to Weddings by Debbie on a whim after being recommended by two friends. I wasn't even planning on having a long dress but made an appointment for later that day and was very glad I did. It was the second (and last) place I went to. The atmosphere and setting is beautiful - very "Pretty Woman" - with more viewing space than any other salon I've been in, mirrors everywhere and very generous dressing rooms. There is a huge selection of dresses and they are laid out by price range (you fill in a short survey so that your assistant can steer you away from the $5000 dresses when your budget is $700-$1000) and by fullness of skirt so it's easy to find something in your range and style. My assistant Kate pulled a few dresses for me to try as I figured she was the expert and I ended up buying the third or fourth one I tried on. The dress is beautiful and I was given a great discount as I bought it off the shop floor (although it looked immaculate as if it had never been tried on) which made it very affordable. Kate was fun, patient, personable and very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for help in choosing your dress. My dress is currently with the alterations department who are doing a great job and I am really looking forward to wearing it on the big day.
