I stopped all of the daily medications (10mg Lisinopril, 25mg Hydrochlorothiazide, 20mg Lipitor) for four months and had my doctor examine me.. He concurred, but told me to be very vigilant. I am not too much at risk because of my low level ITP condition. The ITP is congenital on my mother's side of the family from Northern Italy. We have no negative ITP symptoms except for a low 20k platelet count. The family is known for healthy longevity in those individuals who did NOT smoke.... living well into their 90s with a good quality of life. I have my mother's genetics, and she is a fit and healthy 84, needing no medications for anything (except sometimes being grouchy).
