My first job, as a 15 year old Arthur Hill student, was at Spatz Bakery with the brothers, Buzz and Bill. I have lived all over the country in the 60 years since then and have yet to find a bread that comes even close to Spatz in the familiar white bag with red and blue lettering. I still miss it and really wish they could take either phone or internet orders and ship. Everyone I knew in Saginaw has either moved away or passed away so I don't know anyone there who could pick some up and send it to me. The store has certainly changed over the years, it looks as if Spatzs either bought out the grocery store (Knight's, I think) and expanded or just plain rebuilt.
Bottom Line: BEST BREAD AND BAKERY PRODUCTS ANYWHERE!
