Ziyan Salon and Spa are under new management and are hands down the best Salon in Lexington. The staff is wonderful and inviting; the new owner, Van, went out of his way to make me have a great experience at his salon. I get massages about once or twice a month and I literally received the best deep tissue massage from Emin and he will definitely be my new massage therapist from now on! I received a hair cut and style from Keith and he eased all my nervous anxiety that I usually have when getting a cut from a new-to-me-stylist! I couldn't be more pleased about my experience there! I'll definitely be back! more

I went to this salon because I had heard good things and couldn't get in to see my regular guy. When i walked in the, the front staff glared at me as if I wasn't allowed in there and were very rude, including the ""stylist"" who did my hair. A very tall blonde man wearing heavy makeup and pink nail polish. Avoid TRAVIS at all costs!! I informed whoever I spoke to on the phone about my hair and she gave me a price quote. Well TRAVIS ended up doing something different and didn't hide his displeasure that he was going to have to give me the price I was quoted. He ended up doing TWO chemical treatments on my hair, thus frying it. I asked for a trim on my very long, beautiful hair and just some side bangs. After 3 long hours of listening to this man talk on his cell phone, using vulgar language and acting annoyed about losing money, I left the salon with what I thought was good hair. NOPE!! It was TWO different colors and it was the horrendous haircut I've ever gotten. The layers were literally cut into stair-steps and looked like 3 different styles. Not to mention it is now extremely fried. I had to go my regular hair guy who was absolutely shocked and he had to do another chemical process and cut about 3 inches off my long hair just to fix it. I called and complained to KEITH who was very nice and took my number. The next day TRAVIS called me, was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! told me I was wrong about my haircut and that my usual stylist was being a ""b*tch"". I couldn't believe how rude he was. I was very polite and just asked for owner to call me. A week passed, no owner had called. i called AGAIN, told my story once more to a girl, who then took my number and said the owner would call in an hour. TWO weeks later, the owner whose name is CALEB never called!!! This is by far is the WORST treatment I've ever gotten, anywhere!!! I spent a LOT of money on my hair that was in healthy beautiful condition and lost it's softness and FOUR freaking inches of hair because of this moron named TRAVIS MORGAN!!! AND THE OWNER DOESN'T EVEN CARE! Avoid Ziyan at all costs and go to Insignia, they are awesome. Even my stylist knew of Travis and how he has a bad reputation. Horrible, horrible ""salon"" and I am reporting them to the BBB. more

This place is best in Lexington: Been several other salons and nothing compares to here. Nice atmospere, friendly and experienced stylists! Very pleased! more

They are great: I have just moved to Kentucky from Chicago and it was really hard for me to find a salon with stylist that knew how to do black hair. I went in and found someone that knew how to take care of my hair and knew the things that I needed. I also liked the fact that the environment was relaxed. I have also been to salons where it seemed like a big clutter but this was not the case, there was space for the stylist to work and for you to feel comfortable . I would recommend this salon to everyone whether you want your hair done or if you just need a massage. This is the place to go. more

The best in Lexington! I have experienced facials, massages, pedicures, a manicure, a body wrap, and had my hair cut and highlighted severla times there. Everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating. The facility is attractive, clean, and comfortable. Keith is extraordinary with hair! And Tony, the owner, treats everyone like they were special. I would recommend it to anyone. more

I went to keith for color and a trim and the first visit he did ok but when I returned for a trim 2 months later instead of taking off a half inch he cut many more then proceed to thin my hair so much wiht thinning shears to the point that I looked like I had bald spots and was very thin elsewhere. I looked like a chemo paitent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had to wait many month to get it fixed for the bald spots to grow back. the biggest issue is that he doesn't listen, he kept telling me he has done drew barrymores hair and the pussycat dolls amongst other celebs but none of that matters when you don't even listen to a clients very specific requests. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS HE IS HORRIBLE!!! Cons: I look like a chemo paitent more

Let me start off saying this: I have gone to the same hairdresser Apryl for a long time. she does a great job and really knows what she is doing. Besides that, this place stinks. I have gone to Keith only once because he convinced me to leave Apryl so he could do wonders with my hair color (WRONG!) All he did was color it the same and alienate me in the process. Plus he charged me $250 for cut, color, style and deep conditioning (which I did not ask for). The front desk staff are rude and lazy, I called one time to make an appt w. Apryl and was put on hold for 15 minutes. I almost hung up until someone realized I was on hold. Another time I went to get an eyebrow waxing and the girl told me she would be right back so she could tell the facialist I was there. I waited 10 minutes at the front desk and finally gave up and began to walk out and saw the receptionist smoking outside. When she noticed me she ran back inside to get the facialist. If it werent for my hairdresser Apryl being there, I would most definitely leave. I would only recommend it to people to see Apryl or those who love the smell of smoke when you walk in or loud rap music playing while they get their hair done. Otherwise, stay away. DANGER! Keith acts as if he is listening, but does whatever he wants to your hair. I asked for blond highlights. As is is taking the towel off my head AFTER the color, he informs me it is darker than I expected but will 'lighten up in the next few weeks'. Even thought the photo I brought clearly shows a cut that is longer on the top and closer to the neck at the bottom and he AGREED that this is what I wanted, he cut the entire top of my hair short and left the bottom long. If I dried it straight, it would look exactly like the 70s feathered styles. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. The receptionist said she would talk to the owner about a refund. THIS WAS A LIE. The owner only offered that I see another stylist. Not only is there not enough hair left to cut, I wouldn't step foot in front of this salon EVER. By the way, the polish on 4 toes peeled before I even got home. Avoid the pedicure services, too. WHAT A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY, AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT MONTHS FOR MY HAIR TO GROW. And since they won't stand behind their services and give a refund, this is my only solution, to warn as many people as possible. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS. I went to Ziyan for the first time and i was pleasantly surprised! They got me in quickly for hair color and cut, and also a massage. The Salon and Spa was beautiful! I never knew Lexington had such a great upscale salon and spa. Ashley Umstead did my hair and i love it. She gave me the perfect new look i wanted just in time for new years. Also, they sell great skin care and hair products. I even bought a gift certificate for my sister and husband to get a couples massage. I cant wait to go back! Pros: Beautful and Affordable more
