Exposed brick and natural wood finishes complement the warm décor of this old urban coffee shop. Nestled in midst of Pioneer Square office towers and street shops, this gem is one of the few coffee shops in the downtown corridor open late (past 5pm) or on weekends. The coffee itself is true art from baristas that focus, not on getting you in and out, but, on the taste and presentation of your coffee. It should be noted that the chocolate for their mochas is provided by Dilettante Chocolates, a local gourmet chocolate company. In addition to their coffee, they also offer an array of sandwich choices, salads, fruit, and a case of pastries. Be warned that they often run out of sandwiches after the lunch hour, so arrive early. Should you be alone or with inquisitive company, Zeitgeist also promotes local artists with monthly updated lit displays. An excellent coffeeshop in one of the most eclectic areas of downtown. A MUST to visit! this is hands down the best coffeeshop I have ever been to; better than any in all of Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, or my current home of Phoenix. Zeitgeist is bar none the most beautiful, and inexpensive coffeehouse in downtown Seattle. There is great ambience, attractive baristas, interesting art shows, and delicious coffee. Brian- This is a former groopie. You gave me some early lessons about coffee and roast profiles. My son and I own Metropolis Coffee Co in Chicago. I now know how much effort goes into maintaining quality after 2 and 1/2 years of roasting with running a a coffeehouse . Your place is great! You deserve all the success that you get.\r \r The owner and staff are knowledgable and friendly; the feeling is wonderful, very much like my favorite places in Italy, France and yes, there's a Zeitgeist-looking place in Lima,Peru too. This is a must-not-miss location for monthly art walk with it's friendly, knowledgable baristas and it's always interesting gallery shows. There is music, there is art, there is the 'cool kids' and more. I always feel right at home here, no snooty attitudes, warm and inviting atmosphere and yummy drinks and nosh. very cool place - very comfortable spot, outstanding espresso drinks (Illy) and excellent music - the morning I was there, the barista was playing Interpol. highly recommend getting there at 7am and bring something good to read, buy a delicious pastry and at least two cappucinos. settle in to savor the time you have to hide from the world in this cozy cafe. ...In Seattle. Great donuts, excellent atmosphere, cozy, hip, cool, quality clientele, locations are amaing. They really do it right. Period. For a good place to read the paper, get some great coffee adn pastries, you cant go wrong. This is a what a coffee place should be like! And for $2.25 knock yourself out w/ a large drip coffee and one of their excellent donuts. Can't go wrong.... more
