Just moved here from Florida and had their fresh catch Rock Bass from California. Wow is all I can say. The fish was cooked perfect and the sauce was 5 star. Great service from Chris and the owner Terry was extremely gracious. Do yourself a favor and try York St. more

How Rude... 4/11/2012

Good Food...Good Service....But I was treated so rudely, I would never go back. After spending $50 on food, while on my second glass of wine, I was asked to leave my table and finish on the small lumpy sofa. REALLY??? You can't wait 15 minutes or give the table that was empty right across from me. I will never never go back... Just not the way you treat clients..... more

York Street 10/11/2010

I have been to York Street several times for lunch and dinner. I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience. I recommend this as a ""different place"" to go. The interior decorations of items from the 60's and 70's always make me smile or laugh and the food has always been great! more

WILL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! 10/19/2009

From the moment we walked in the door, we loved the atmosphere!! The items on the menu were very unique and the entees we ordered were fabulous! Save room for the home made desert!! The service we received was outstanding! The manager even went as far as to go next door to check to see if there were tickets available for us to see a show that was playing nearby. If you are looking for a great dining experience.... you must try York st Cafe! Pros: Great food, Great service, Great Atmosphere!! more

Great Food and Atmosphere 7/31/2009

As a native Campbell County Kentuckian, I eat there at least once, usually several times, whenever I'm back in the area. The food is always excellent and we are always perfectly attended by the staff. Pros: Love their salmon. more

Your Street - RUDE TREATMENT BY MANAGER 12/22/2008

The food is ecclectic and pricy. There aren't any ""true"" meat and potatoes on their menu. Service tends to be slow and several times when dining there the orders have been incorrect. This isn't the only thing that angers me though. While attending the Swing Band performance on the 2nd floor, I was approached by the manager and verbally told off. Whatever happened to proper customer service and etiquette? You DO NOT go to a customer, no matter the what (when there was opportunity to talk to them earlier about something in private) and verbally tell them they are extremely rude when there are other patrons!!!! Being used as an example to other patrons is not PROFESSIONAL. Pros: Ambience is good - lots to see Cons: Slow service and rude management more

worst service on earth 10/13/2008

We were set up to have a bridal shower at York Street and had agreed on $12 - $15 per person. 40 minutes before the shower I called to see if everything was ok and Betsy (owner's wife) told me it would be $20 per person plus tip! And told me the price she had given me 4 days before was a year old... and the economy went bad!!!! Believe me or not!!!! Forget it... I called Pompilio's and they arranged to take my party for a great time!!!! Never again I will step a foot in there! Pros: cool place Cons: Horrible people that don't no how to do good business. more

No food is worth the terrible service you get at York Street Cafe. 10/8/2008

I went out to York Street Cafe with some coworkers on a Wednesday night. It took us over 2 and a half hours to order, eat, and pay. The service was truly terrible, our server didn't offer us bread until we had been there 20 minutes, didn't explain the delay, and only sporadically took our orders for drinks. My wife and I had to practically accost her to get in an order for a drink! Our server had no clue as to how to separate our checks, and I have gotten income tax returns faster than it took this lady to run all of our cards.\r \r The food was good, but you can find it elsewhere, and not watch your fellow diners age while you wait on food. We are never going there again. Pros: You can leave, they probably won't notice. Cons: Terrible service more

Nice atmosphere in the old pharmacy with excellent food. Don't miss the Big Band on Saturday. 10/15/2007

Have a very good differnt menu. Resturant is an intimate type of seating that lends itself to easy converation. Enjoyed the experience. Be sure and stop upstairs on Saturday and hear the Swingtime Big Band. The band plays all the classics from the Miller and Sinatra era. Pros: Food, atmosphere, music Cons: parking more

Terrible service by Ryan; good food at high prices 12/13/2006

I just returned from York St. Cafe and was compelled to review this restaurant while still fresh in my mind. The service by Ryan, our waiter, was awful: 1) He did not offer the wine special for $1 a bottle that we overheard the waitress next to us offer another couple, 2) He did not offer us bread the table next to us got (I asked and got it), 3) He did not clear our salad plates promptly (waited 10 minutes), 4) He did not have daily specials memorized (read his slip of paper--very poor form), 5) He was not prompt in refilling water (empty glass sat on the table for 10 minutes and was only refilled when asked), 6) He waited until we were over half-way done with our meal before checking in to see how the food was, 7) The manager had to take payment since Ryan was slow to pick up the credit card, and 8) We were not thanked by Ryan on the way out for coming to the restaurant. Clearly this level of service could not merit a good tip. And my tip to you all is to avoid this restaurant. Despite the very nice decor of the restaurant and the good food, it was not worth the high entree prices ($17-$25)--especially with bad service. Kudos, however, to the African American waitress serving the table next to us. Watching her interact with the couple next to us, she was truly outstanding and professional! If you do go to this restaurant, ask for her! Pros: nice decor, good food Cons: terrible service, overpriced food more

Food is different but very good. Be prepared to try something new. 11/1/2006

Really neat old building with lots of period decoration. Try it on a Saturday when the Big Band is playing upstairs. Unlikely place to find this great type of entertainment. You really get to see the band working out. I believe they will serve you up there too. Got to be one the most unique places around town. Pros: Great ambience and music on the right night. Cons: Not much parking, probably have to park on street. more

Excellent food 11/15/2003

One of the best places to get a lamb dish in town. The bread is very good, so was the soup of the day (creamy parsnip & carrot.) There is apparently no division between nonsmoking and smoking, but the place was open enough that the smoke did not bother us. Pros: excellent food, lively and cozy Cons: expensive more

best improv in cincinnati 11/29/2002

wits end - superior comedy!! best improv group in the city and surrounding environs. Pros: good drinks, crowded, entertaining more

A Little Bit Off the Beaten Path 8/20/2002

Ok, this isn't the typical romantical type of place, but the old apothecary-turned-restaurant is pretty cool. You can still get romantic here. more

Take a Date, For Sure! 8/9/2002

A great date restaurant. Sit on the couches, or on the patio. Share a Mediterranean Board. Split a dessert. Head upstairs to hear a great band play in the lounge. Make her believe you found this undiscovered gem of a restaurant in Newport all by yourself. Pros: Laid Back, Food & Music, Locally owned Cons: A little pricey more
