LOVE LOVE LOVE... Food has always been fantastic, servers are friendly, but after they renovated place then did the space match the quality of food and service. Place got a new vibe and is even open later on in the night as a modern lounge-- great place to have drinks with girls or go on a date! more

i could eat their sushi until i burst 1/13/2010

Yoki was my first stop the night before Halloween - and I truly could not have asked for anything better! My friend and I were looking for a meal and some drinks before getting ready for our night out. It was a Friday night, and we came around 7ish and did not have to wait at all. Music remixes were playing from the speaker behind us, and being in our mid-20's the music helped make the meal. It was decorated for Halloween - and our server had a fantastic personality - so far it was perfect. The night continued far beyond my highest expectations. I am a sushi-a-holic, which I also believes entitles me to be a sushi-snob, which when I say this sushi is amazing, it is truly worth a drive out to try. The menu was varied, and everything I ate was great. My best recommendation is to go with someone that truly does enjoy sushi, while it does offer non-raw options; it is way more fun to share multiple plates of sushi to get the most bang for your buck. I went with a Buywithme coupon - and would go back again if I find myself in the area without the coupon (even though I prefer having a discount!). New up and coming, and so far underrated restaurant - go out and try! Pros: fresh, delicious sushi, friendly fab service, great ambience Cons: so far I have found none more

AWESOME SUSHI! 7/12/2008

This place is great. I have been to a lot of really great sushi places on the west coast. Moved back to Boston and was missing my old standbys...we tried Yoki and go there probably once a week now. It is the best sushi that I have had in Boston and certainly matches up to my favorites back west. Great food, great service and some divine special rolls. PS - the red sox roll is great! more

Best in Boston 1/5/2008

My husband and I used to live in the apartments upstairs from the resturant and now we live in Boston and still get in our car to go to this resturant. It is by far the freshest sushi I have ever had and we have been to Japan and have eaten at all the top sushi resturants in NYC, LA and Vegas. This place is by far the most consistant and the service is great. I disagree with the overpriced comments because quite honestly for the quality it is priced just right. WE LOVE IT!!! Pros: Great Food! Cons: Out of way location for the city peeps more

Impeccable Service, Good Sushi and Great atmosphere 11/12/2007

Yoki is a great addition to greater Boston area Japanese food. The service is amazing. If anything is wrong or not how you like it, ask and they will fix it plus more. The sushi is very good. I would go for any of the maki, nonetheless the nigiri is only topped by maybe 1 or 2 restaurants in the Boston area. The food is also quite good. The soups are quality along with any of the beef (that's what I've tried.) The selection of cold saki is good. The biggest plus is that Yoki is not AS overpriced as most area Japanese restaurants. Pros: Wonderful service, good sushi, all-around good experience Cons: Still a bit overpriced, sometimes nigiri is inconsistent (both problems of all boston area japanese restaurants) more

The best Sushi in Boston! 11/9/2007

My boyfriend and I have both travelled to Japan and have had authentic sushi from a sushi chef and we love this restaurant. We deamed it as our restaurant. With their wide variety of saki to the fresh fish, this place is a great merge of elegant japanese cuisene. I highly recommend this retaurant. The owner is professional and cares about every customer that has come in. He has greated us everytime we have visited. The travel to this restaurant is worth it. You will be addicted! Pros: Owner, rock and roll roll, edamame, and steamed ravioli's Cons: Price is a little up there but worth it more

Excellent sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine. 10/28/2007

Very clean and friendly, attentive, helpful waitstaff. Full bar, attractive decor, comfortable atmosphere with 3 wide-screen TVs. Sushi is very fresh and prepared in an open, visible sushi bar. Aside from sushi, menu offers a variety of Japanes dishes. more

It's expensive...but worth it! 10/10/2007

This is hands down my favorite Sushi restaurant in the Boston area. It is truly worth the trip! The wait staff is incredibly friendly, prompt, and conversational. Sitting at the bar (the real bar, not the sushi bar) is something me and my roommate have come to really enjoy! Not only is their sushi superb, but their salads, udon noodle dishes, tempura, eel and teriyaki are all delicious! As I mentioned, it is not cheap, actually it is one of the more expensive sushi restaurants that I have dinned in, but I promise you it is worth it! It can get pretty busy at dinner, but they move people in and out fairly quickly, so there has never been a problem with a wait! I highly recommend Yoki!! Enjoy! Pros: Sushi, service, noodles! Cons: None! more

GREAT Experience! 9/28/2007

I just read the one star review of this place and couldn't disagree more. The food is all GREAT here. The sushi is fresh. The service is so friendly. And the saki is flowing! I've gone 3 times - each with different groups of people - and every time we all left raving. more

does NOT know Japanses cusine... 9/26/2007

I've eaten sushi in Japan, New York and Boston, so I was excited to finally find a sushi joint near where I live. The place was nice and the staff were friendly BUT THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. The chirashi (various pieces of fish on a bed of vinegared sushi rice) was something I kept shaking my head over, and not in a good way: the fish had no flavor, and felt as if they were not fresh, but kept frozen overnight and thawed out for use. The rice wasn't even made properly. My wife's udon was made Chisese style, not Japanese style, and felt some discomfort later. What a huge disappointment. Do NOT go there!!!! Go to BLUE FIN in Porter Square. more

Everything you would want in a Sushi joint 9/25/2007

It really is everything you could want in a sushi restaurant, including alternatives. Their menu also includes Hibachi and other non-raw specialties. It is absoultely beautiful inside with 3 huge wide screens that are loyal to Patriots and Sox. It is extremely clean and the staff is very quick and friendly. \r Food quality as well has always been stellar. I would definitely recommend fighting the wellington circle traffic for this new restaurant. Pros: Best Sushi, service & cleanliness Cons: None yet more

Great sushi 8/17/2007

Great sushi with a wonderful wait staff, if a bit expensive. If you're looking for a sushi place in Medford/Everett this is probably your best bet, with convenient parking and very tasty entrees. Pros: Attentive service and very flavorful food. more

Finally 7/31/2007

I'd like to congratulate the owners of Yoki and welcome them to Wellington! The sushi here is absolute top shelf, 1st class, however you want to deem it! Its especially fantastic since it's right in my backyard! WE enjoyed spicy tuna rolls, unaghi rolls, soft shell crab rolls and a fantastic Japanese style seafood and tofu soup served in a clay tureen with lemon and lime. A wonderfully light soup ideal as a starter. The chef even made it a point to come out and instruct us on how to enjoy it. very nice touch as the staff obviously took tremendous pride in their finished product. ALWAYS A GOOD THING in the food biz (or any other for thact fact). \r \r Kudos and good luck! more
