I am visiting Albany and staying at a hotel downtown. I needed to go to Wal-mart, and that was out of the shuttle jurisdiction, so I had the front desk call a taxi for me. Yellow cab pulled up and I told him I was going to Wal-mart, to the closest one. I told him I had been online and found the closest one in Albany was 9 miles away, he then told me that this one in Rensselaer NY was closer, so I said ok. When we pulled up he charged me 21 dollars! I thought that was high, but its 6 a.m. and I have to get back to my hotel somehow, so, I had no choice but to call him back. When I got back in my room, I looked up the mileage from my hotel to the wal-mart. The total mileage one way is 4.2 miles!!!! A grand total of 8.4 miles and 42 dollars!!!!! So I called yellow cab, and asked the man who answered generally how much would it cost to go 8 miles. He told me ,""We don't charge by the mile, we charge by the zone."" I said ,"" Oh really?"" He then replied ( with an attitude ) ,""REALLY!!!!!!"". Then he hung up on me!!!! I was certainly taken advantage of this morning, and from now on, will always read reviews first!!!\r
