Yard House

our first dish came out with inedible chicken. Our second dish was the reason we came to Yard House (garlic noodles) which came out cold without garlic or sauce. We mentioned this to our server, Janelle, she responded with an attitude and said this is how the dish is supposed to be. We were then visited by the manager who apologized for his server and agreed that the dish was unacceptable. Shortly after we experience our server talking negatively about us to another server near by our table. Come on... at least move away out of sight. Also my guest surprised me with a birthday dessert which was advertised by our server as free but of course we were charged. We expressed our frustrations to the manager about the server and our overall experience. He refunded us ONLY the desert and was embarrassed to hear about his server. I think its pretty unacceptable that this is how the restaurant and manager would handle the situation. more

My friends and I went here for a birthday dinner on a Thursday night, and even though it wasn?t a weekend it was still pretty packed. I ordered the Garlic Chicken Noodle, which in my opinion didn?t have enough garlic in it. Their lettuce wrap appetizers were okay though. But I guess more than the food, Yard House is known for their drinks? After all their known for having ?the world?s largest selection of draft beer.? I?m all about the fruity drinks so I ordered a Snake Bite and a Strawberry Blonde- both were pretty good. I would recommend this place even if their food is pretty mediocre. The design is horrible. As you sit in either a booth or open area, your view or atmosphere is watching the people at the bar. The staff are hurriedly running around saying,""excuse me."" The people in the bar area runoff into the dining area, so noise is a factor as well as drunks at the bar. The only friendly people are the women at the front. Typically, the waitresses are running around with their heads cut off. Don't go near the bar, it's as if you are making them work as they are not interested in serving their customers what-so-ever. The food is a saving grace as it is usually well prepared. There is zero personal touch and quality in making anyone feel wanted at the Yardhouse in Costa Mesa. Yard House has been a great place to enjoy a late lunch without the crowds. Check in for Happy Hour if you want some action. It's pretty packed on Thurs. Fri., but it's a fun crowd!
