Not Fresh! 7/22/2011

I have been to wrightberry's ""4"" times, I believe in giving people a fare shake. Three out of the four times I ordered red velvet cupcakes. Each time and I mean each time they were DRY, No real flavor. On the last time the frosting was even semi hard. The one other time I bought a lemon cupcake for my pregnant daughter in law, she eventually told me it was ""dry"" also. The packaging is beautiful I will say that. When I called to tell the owner she seemed not at all interested and told me they just made them today. There was no moisture to these cupcakes, how could they have been made today? When I told the owner that this was my forth time and I would not be coming back she said ""ok"". When you spend 4.00 for a cupcake you want it to be worth it. I won't be doing business with Wrightberry's. more

Treat you bad! 9/15/2010

I spent 7 months trying to find a company that could make my perfect wedding cake. I thought this company: Wrightberry's Custom Cakes would be able to do it and they didn?t. My dream cake I never saw and my husband never saw our cake because it collapsed when we were saying our nuptials to eachother. Wrightberry's Custom Cakes never apologized for this horrific event that my family, my husband and I and all of our friends witness after we entered the room for dinner. The cake should have never collapsed if this company: Wrightberry's Custom Cakes made it correctly (since the cake was sitting on a secured table in the corner against a wall). In fact Wrightberry's Custom Cakes treated us very badly after the wedding when we asked for a partial refund because 90% of the cake was ruined when it collapsed. This is a brides worst nightmare and I hope that whoever is reading this does not choose this place because they will not stand behind their product. Also the catering company said the cake was not cooked either!!!!! more

good but not superb 9/22/2009

I suspect for the price there are better bakeries out there, but overall, we were pretty happy and didn't have a lot of time to find our baker. The cake was beautiful, they were easy to work with and helped create a lovely cake. I just wish it would have tasted a bit better. Pros: friendly, flexible and reliable Cons: tasted much better at the tasting than at our wedding more

Fabulous cake! 1/7/2008

I was very excited about using Wrightberry Custom Cakes! They have the best customer service, great tasting cakes, and very professional! I went in and they helped me design my cake. I didn't have a clue when I went in and learned so much by the time I left the consultation. They are very creative, flexible and have great prices. They let you try full size pieces of cake, and not to mention there amazing fondant. I had never had it before, and their's is wonderful. I recommend them to everyone! They were very responsive to all my question and provided me with the most beautiful cake I have ever seen! All my friends were so impressed! Thank you Wrightberry's! You are amazing! Pros: amazing service and cake Cons: need more reasons to buy cake!! more

poor customer service, big egos 1/26/2007

I used Wrightberry's for my wedding cake. They were responsive and accommodating until they received my deposit check. I encountered many ridiculous problems with Jan in the weeks prior to my wedding. She wanted me to follow up on my cake design in the weeks before my wedding, adding to the problems I apparently was a few days late with my final check (I thought it was due a week before the wedding, not two), and received a call from Jan. I apologized and offered to drive it out there the next day, but she didn't want me to interrupt their business and wanted me to call. I called the next am, again, to drop off the check, she tells me it's not a good time and tells me there is a $10/ day late fee. Finally, she tells me I could pay by credit card, which I could have done the first day, and with less attitude from her. I wanted to discuss my cake design with her, and she didn't have time because they were busy. She told me I couldn't have the design I wanted because they were too busy. Thank God for saved emails! Only because I had it in writing from prior to giving my deposit did she grudgingly agree to do the cake I wanted, because she had already agreed to it! I wanted some pictures scanned to put on the cake, again, called several times to set up time to talk about my cake design and drop off the pictures, and was told they were too busy. I was told I could drop the pictures off outside the studio when I called, and not to come inside because they were with scheduled customers. I dropped them off, with no cars that were not there when I went for my original ""appointment"" in their parking area. I also had to email color and size instructions, and of course, never got to meet with Jan again prior to my wedding, so, not surprisingly, the cake did not turn out as I had hoped for color, size, or shape. No one knew this but me, because it was the general concept, but not worth the aggravation or $$. I wished in the last week that I got a Costco cake. more

Horrible customer service 12/28/2006

I have never been so disappointed with a caterer before. Granted this was my first wedding however I was working with five other vendors who were much more professional. I ordered my cake months before the date (the knot) recommends and still came out with HORRIBLE service AND a really UGLY cake. It was nothing like I had picked out in the book (after they told me they can design ABSOLUTELY anything). This is just the beginning. I had sent the design of my cake that I wanted right after we paid the deposit and never got a response. I continued to follow up leaving messages and e-mails with NO RESPONSE. THREE weeks before the wedding they finally called back to tell me they wouldn't be able to design my cake. Okay three weeks isn't enough time to find another cater. I asked why I wasn't told before now, they had no reason. EXCUSE ME??!! Then an hour later I got a call back telling me that she had left a message with me or maybe it was someone else with the same deisgn. Come on, be honest and own up to your mistake and work with your PAYING customer. I think is horrible business practice and really unfair and not to communicate honestly with your clients. Finally after bantering with them they asked me if I would like to come in and pick out another design. So I did! Out of there design book. Guess what??? I didn't even recognize the cake when it showed up. It looked nothing like the picture. I think honesty goes a long way. After all this they asked ME to pay more money for THERE mistake. I would of thought in this situation I would have been offered a discount. I was shocked! Pros: Cake tastes good Cons: Horrible customer service and very unproffessional more
