I came to look for headphones at World Wide Stereo in Ardmore. Mark Jones was there to help and he gave me excellent service. \r \r Mark introduced me to PSB M4U 2 Active Noise Cancelling headphones. I haven't heard of these headphones until then and I was actually pretty skeptical about their sound quality. After less than five minutes I realized I was wrong, as these are by far the best headphones I've ever tried on (and I've tried a few, believe me...). Mark also gave me other models to test, but the M4U 2's easily topped all of the other models I tried. They were, and still are, the headphones that best suit my needs. Since Mark provided me such excellent service and he's such a great guy, I came back to the store a couple of days later to buy the headphones (although I could order them online, without driving to the store, for the same price). \r \r I feel bad for other people, who are not familiar with the M4U 2's and buy headphones that are considered ""fashionable,"" but their sound quality is mediocre on a good day. I'll definitely come back to WWS, especially because of Mark! more

World Wide Stereo is hands down the best place to shop for all your Audio and video components whether it be for your Car, home, or office. I have been using WWS for over 25 years and they have always helped me choose the right equipment for each project and have always conducted themselves in a professional manner. If you want top, high performance equipment and professional installation I would not trust anyone other than WWS. While other retail electronic chain stores such as Circuit City, 5th Avenue Electronics and Bryn Mawr Stereo have gone out of business, or relocated, World Wide Stereo has remained in the community for over 30 years providing top notch equipment and professional customer service. They have done this by going above and beyond what you have come to expect from a retail chain outfit. Employees are professionally trained and schooled by the vendors they represent and are far more knowledgeable than others who work at the big name stores. The bottom line. You get what you pay for. I high recommend World Wide Stereo. more

The Car Stereo manager was patient and took his time explaining the details of the Kenwood I purchased. \r \r No pressure to buy anything else but I will in the future! more

Its not your typical stereo place, people we're friendly and the store is freakin awesome. They know great sound, I had challenged the car sound guys to put a true hi-fi system in my car without it looking like anything was modified. Did they ever come through! I drive an hour to work everyday and I couldn't imagine the drive without this system. AAA+ these guys totally rock! Big thanks to the car guys at the Montgomeryville store. more

A TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!! 6/11/2011

I wouldn't recommend WWS to my worst enemy (although I have no enemies!). COMPONENTS: overpriced. You have to negotiate with them from internet quotes on the exact models to get the price down. I bought a 3-zone Yamaha amp for $400; their prices are 1K and over. INSTALLATION: Sloppy and tedious. They brought the wrong TV clamp, took ages to program the RF remote, and left speaker wires unsecured that eventually fell out. Took 4-5 service calls to get the audio/video system functioning properly (free for a year). SERVICE: responsive for 1st year but inept. Some technicians couldn't solve problems. After the year is over, they are unresponsive, give you lead times of 7-10 days, and charge you $140/hr for 1st hr., $100 each additional hour. Need I say more? more

AWESOME PLACE!!! 1/31/2011

This store is not just another electronics store like Best Buy or Circuit City or Target. There are a few good reasons why you should go to World Wide Stereo, and that is, service, quality, prices, and service. I went to their showroom in Montgomeryville, Penssylvania. I called first, and the person who came to the phone was so incredibly kind and helpful. I was looking to buy a pair of Denon AH-A100 headphones, and he was more than helpful. He helped me find what I wanted, we discussed whether the price would be good for me or not, and eventually, I made the purchase. He was so cordial, and that is something you will not get from Best Buy. And speaking of Best Buy, let's talk about expertise. You won't get product expertise anywhere else like the product expertise you'll get at WWS. They know what they are talking about, let's leave it at that. The service is really the best part of this store though. You will never feel unwanted, or like a waste of time at WWS. You know you're a valued customer, trust me. You really have nothing to lose, only the most to gain. more

TV and Stereo buying 10/18/2010

Great experience. I have been shopping at World Wide Stereo for over 20 years and I still see the same guys there. It must be a good place to work too. They remember me when I walk in and I always get great service at a great price. more

One word - WOW! 9/28/2010

I went in looking to check out one of the new 3D Televisions in an environment the closely resembles my home. Looking at it in Best buy really didn't give me this idea, so I decided to stop over and check it out at World Wide. Wow-what a difference, there is no comparison to the experience here. Great job guys. more

Great Service 9/27/2010

I recently went in to upgrade my car audio system a bit. I found their employees to be much more professional and knowledgeable than I'd expected. They did a great job installing my system and I will definitely be going back to them in the future. more

never go to world wide stereo 6/23/2010

Never met so many idiots working in one place. These people can't even install the correct car entertainment system. They can't order the right one; let alone install the right one. Meanwhile, we've been there at least five separate times to resolve this. Obviously they can't get it right. They can keep their cheap crap. I'm going somewhere else where they actually know how to do their job. Pros: nothing Cons: biggest waste of time on earth more

Great brands, great service 4/12/2010

Over the years I have made many many purchases from world wide stereo of montgomeryville located on 309 next to the verizon store. Pros: no preesure to buy, knoledgable salespersons Cons: i miss paradigm speakers more

Sloppy work took forever 7/9/2009

Left materials in car after job was done. Left pannels openned and made to come back for another front plate. Staff was not helpfully and a little rude upon walking in the front door. Lots of staff but unless your buying super high they won't care. more

Great Experience 2/20/2008

Their website is very innovative and interactive and a great help... looked over it before stopping in and it answered many of my technical questions and the saleman explained the rest when I got there. It was nice to get a preview of what I can expect before I get there. Also nice to see photos of home theatres they have done in the Philadelphia area. more

BEST PLACE to buy and BEST PEOPLE to buy from for quality Audio/Video. 2/20/2008

Can't believe I'm the first to review a place that's been around since the 70's! I'm a big fan of World Wide Stereo. 1. It's not a place with wall-to-wall distractions of 100's of tv's to choose from like the chains. They do all that for you, editing quantity down to yield superior quality items. 2. it's not a place where you'll have bubble-gum chewing idiots that you have to beg to help you and spell out everything for them... also like the chain stores. The employees know their stuff, and as far as I've experienced, they are not ""car salesman"", but they are warm and honest and really seem to want to help you make a good choice for your particular need. 3. The other reason I will continue to go back to WWS is their follow-up... my salesman called me to make sure I'm happy with my products AND wrote me a thank you note. I have always felt comfortable about the whole experience. Not to mention most of the guys there have been there since I started shopping there in the early 80's, so it's great to know who you are buying from and see familiar faces. 4. Last but not least, reading through their website, I appreicate a small business that contributes to its community. WWS donated the electronics for a locally shot episode of ABC's Exteme Home Makeover, all electronics to the new Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, and I'm always seeing their name pop up at local charity events (which I frequent). So I'm happy to give WWS my money and partronage over some faceless chain store anyway. Overall, a solid establishment... in my humble opinion. Pros: Sales team, Superior products over quantity, great info on website. Cons: Only a con if you are someone who likes to shop at Walmart. more
