I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE!!!!!!! 3/30/2012

For one right when I walked in POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Dude was kinda of an ass. Then he wants you to pay $50 just to try a boot on and if you dont want it he keeps your $50!! Dont believe me? Go there then.. This store needs negative stars!! I dont like writing on these but people out there should be warned about this guy.. He will ROB you.. Go look somewhere else for boots!!! Even if the boot fit and looked nice and felt good I wouldnt give them one dollar of my money for them. I rather pay more for them in a different store than to give my money to these pricks!!! more

First and last time I will visit 9/15/2011

The only reason I am giving it one star is because there is no option for negative stars. Buy far the worst service I have ever experienced. I went in to buy some Whites, he wanted $50 dollars just to try them on. WTF! He said its because people try them on here and buy some place else. Guess what they buy the boots someplace else because your service sucks. Guess what I bought the boots some place else. You should too. more

They make my feet feel good every time! 1/15/2011

I work in construction and have tried every boot store in town. I found out about Workboot Emporium from a good friend of mine and have been shopping there for about 6 or 7 years now. I gotta have top quality work boots and these guys have them. \r \r The best part is that most of their boots are priced like you find on the internet. I've worn cheap boots before and they take a toll on your body. These guys have the good stuff and they've got them cheap. more

I Love Wolverine Durashock Work Boots ! 7/26/2010

Wolverine durashock work boots are the best work boots on the market today. They are getting harder and harder to find in stores. Workboot Emporium has the best selection and cheapest prices in Fresno. They gave me a 20% discount on my boots today and super customer service. Made me happy and a long term customer. Pros: They have the best Wolverine selection in the Valley more

Only Firemen get good service 11/7/2009

I recently went to purchase a pair a Thorogood boots. The boot had a defect that was obvious. The toe was seperated from the footbed. They didn't have anymore my size and refused to order another pair until they sold this (defective) pair. Are there any firemen out there that would have purchased this boot? I doubt it. I guess you have to purchase a hundred boots a year to get good service. I won't be going back. I was expecting the kind of service that ""Playing with fire"" describes, but I only work at a hospital. Not very important I guess. Pros: Great boots Cons: Service is terrible more

Good memories 6/17/2009

I remember this place when I was a little kid, going in with my father when ever he needed new work boots. I hadn't been in there for over 20 years. \r \r Wow! This place has expanded and probably has the biggest work boot selection that I have seen.\r \r Customer service was top notch like I remember it. Try finding that now.\r \r I'm glad to see local family owned businesses are still around. Their business card says they have been around since 1969. Pros: A Real Old-Fashioned Boot Store more

Best Kept Secret in Fresno 5/28/2009

This boot store is probably the best kept secret in the Valley. Their boot selection is incredible and their prices are hard to beat.\r \r Trust me when I say these guys are the Work Boot Authority in the valley!\r \r more

Best Boot Store for Wildland Fire Boots 4/25/2009

Hey Tony937 your review of Workboot Emporium is so BOGUS! Talk about a bad mouthing a company unnecessarily.\r \r I just got my 3rd pair of smokejumpers from them yesterday. The guys in there have always been helpful and courteous. Most of the guys on my crew buy their boots from them.\r \r You're trying to say they have the highest prices on wildland boots. That's totally bogus! They have the same exact price as the White's boot factory! I always check the factory price before I get a new pair. Everybody knows these boots are Hella expensive, but they're worth every penny.\r \r It's obvious there's other underlying issues between you and the owners of Workboot Emporium. \r \r They told me yesterday they had to start charging a REFUNDABLE fitting fee last year for these boots because too many guys were getting properly fitted at their store and ordering the boots online. They told me that they started the fitting fee because about half the guys getting fitted were buying boots, the other half were placing orders over the internet. It was either do this or stop selling wildland boots according to them. For guys that have never worn a pair of wildland boots before it takes 30 - 45 minutes for your first fitting.\r \r I don't know about you guys reading this, but if i only got paid for half the fires I put out, I wouldn't be putting out fires anymore!!!!! Do you get what I'm saying? The internet has closed down a lot of small businesses. Believe me when I tell you that this is one boot store that we as firefighters cann't afford to have close down. When the factory is out of smokejumpers, these guys tend to have them in stock. How valuable is that to you guys? It's sure valuable to me! Plus, it's the only palce you can get Obenauf""s boot oil locally. Their repair department is the only repair shop that I trust with my White's with besides the factory.\r \r Hey, Tony, you don't have to lie about the fitting fee. Chill out dude before you stoke out. It is refundable when you buy the boots. Even if you don't buy boots from them these guys they will issue you a gift certificate for the full amout of the fitting fee, so you don't lose out on anything.\r \r Peace out everybody, and have a safe season. I plan on making some serious bank this year!!! ......Later\r \r \r \r Pros: Experts at fitting Wildland Boots Cons: Too many boots to choose from more

Customer service takes the backseat! 5/24/2008

I have never been so taken-back as my recent experience here. They might, in fact, not only have the highest prices in the valley but also demonstrate poor integrity and customer service. \r \r The self-proclaimed 'hothead' customer service rep might also tell you about his jack___ customers, as he felt so free to share with me. To say the least, I'd rather shop in a more friendly environment!\r \r **Also, be prepared to pay a non-refundable $50 fitting fee for trying on boots.\r Cons: Customer Service, High Prices, Underlying Fees more
